The School Games

The School Games is the Government's strategy for sport, which has provided a meaningful sporting legacy for the London 2012 Olympics, and going forward the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022.

The School Games aim is to engage all young people through meaningful competition, festivals, clubs, leadership programmes and interventions. We work as part of a county wide strategic groups to ensure the School Games is inclusive to all children. Taking into consideration all personality types and what motivates individuals to be physically active. The programme is diverse, fun, and provides children with opportunities to achieve in an environment that nurtures them as individuals.

Level 1 Intra-school Competition

Inter-form competitions bring the whole school together to enjoy sport.  Participating in the intra-school competitions provide an opportunity for pupils to provide a positive contribution towards the school ethos, and demonstrate the Catholic values, which also mirror the Olympic and Paralympic values.

Level 2 Inter-school Competition

Individuals and teams are selected to represent their school in a variety of sports and fun activities.  A great way for pupils to share, and appreciate each other’s abilities and interests.
