Delivering extra-curricular PE and sporting opportunities for 18,000 pupils aged 6–18 across North West Leeds

Leeds North West School Sport Partnership (SSP) was launched in 2000, taking the area lead in delivering the Government's strategy for sport, most recently labelled the 'School Games' through the provision of extra-curricular PE and sporting opportunities for pupils aged 6–18.

The main focus of the SSP is to develop, manage and co-ordinate primary and secondary inter and intra school sport competitions. A wide range of traditional and alternative sport competitions are provided to pupils with many events providing the start of the pathway to district, county and national level school competitions. In addition we support schools to meet their Sports Premium DFE objectives in particular the 30 minutes get active throughout the school day and engaging least active children. School Games Mark applications, Developing Sports Leaders, Inclusive opportunities, Club Links and Health Interventions.

The Leeds North West SSP covers 40 Primary Schools, 7 Secondary Schools, 1 SILC and 1 PRU
